Cut corners remove a section of the mattress at the corner, which can help it fit around obstacles or into a bed frame with angled edges. This is a common choice for RVs where cabinets, walls, or fixtures leave less room than a standard rectangle allows.
Notched corners are cut out more deeply to work around posts, frame edges, or other built-in obstructions. If your RV bed has an unusual layout or a corner that needs more clearance, a notched design may be the best solution.

First, measure the full length and width of the bed platform so you have the overall mattress size. Then note which corner needs to be modified and measure the exact amount of space needed for a cut, radius, or notched corner. You’ll measure the custom corner using two tape measures. Use tape measure 1 to find the X (horizontal) measurement and tape measure 2 to find the Y (vertical) measurement. Stretch them out so they cross each other. Where they intersect is where you’ll find your X and Y measurements.
